The game developers of Need for Speed Prostreet need to be given credit for trying something different with the game. However, the game fails to live up to the expectations of the previous games.

This said, Need for Speed Prostreet is a decent racing experience game and the online component thrown into the PC version is pretty good.
The last two Need for Speed games told the story of an underground street racer with entertaining cutscenes. Need for Speed Prostreet, on the other hand, follows the legal street racing career of Ryan Cooper. Prostreet tries to use cutscenes to try and put some story into the game but it does not get interesting because of terrible voice acting and extremely unlikeable characters.
However, let us forget the story because the main aim of Need for Speed Prostreet is to go for different racing events, dominate them, challenge the best drivers and ultimately take on Ryo, the man who disrespected Ryan Cooper, which is you, after his first race.
Need for Speed Prostreet ensures that you have to win a large number of race days which means it will take you time to reach Ryo for the final showdown. Each race day has a number of different events and most of these will be familiar to anyone who has played the earlier Need for Speed games. This time round Drift racing is fun because you do not lose all your points for going off the track. In Grip racing, the race is with eight cars and you have to finish first.
Need for Speed Prostreet is a decent game with a whole of events to take part in but there is no variety. Most races feel the same and this leads to the game being monotonous after sometime. The other drawback is that you have go through too many events before reaching the end that it can get a tad bit tedious.
In addition, need for Speed Prostreet’s audio is not very good and this is mainly because the game announcers have bad script and yell into the mike. The cars sound okay but unfortunately there is not too variation in the engine noise.
