However, on the whole the entire game is not as interesting as one envisaged because of the bad voice acting and not so nice characters.

The main aim of the game is to go to as many legal street races as possible, challenge the best drivers, dominate the events and finally have a face-off with Ryo, the one driver who had the audacity to insult you after your first race.

In order to meet Ryo in the ultimate showdown, you have to win a large number of race days. This means that each race day consists of number of different events which you either have to win or perform really well. So, you will be participating in grip races which have eight cars on the track and your goal is to finish in the first spot. Other events will require you to have the fastest time or the best time out of your class of cars or highest speed at checkpoints.

Though the game can be fun, it gets repetitive and tiring after some time. There are sufficient events to participate in but after sometime you realize that the events do not have a great deal of variety. Most races end up feeling the same and the worst part is that you have to take part in too many races before you reach the end of the game.

Another drawback that Need for Speed Prostreet has is the lack of action on the track. For the first 50 races, you end up racing against ordinary cars. You unlock cars like Lamborghini and Zonda later on in the race. Since you are on a track, you cannot take any shortcuts and neither is there any police car chasing you. Largely, no excitement.

While you may want to win each race day, your objective is to dominate as many race days as possible so that you can unlock new events as you go along. You are given points after each race based on your race finish, your timing and how much damage your car sustained. If your combined score for all events breaks the old record, you dominate the race day and you are awarded a prize. This means that you have win most of the races in order to dominate the race day. A touch of difficulty has been instilled by limiting the number of cars you can bring for each race day. You can use just one car for each event. However, you can buy new cars or upgrade your ride to improve your performance.

Need for Street Prostreet has a nice online mode on Playstation 3 and this is its only saving grace.
