Dead Rising is a peculiar new game which is based on a bunch of overzealous freelance photojournalists who have to fight loads of zombies. The funny thing about this game is that those who play this game usually fall in two categories: people who love the game and people who hate the game. The former category comprises those who seek maximum violence and mayhem in their games.

Dead Rising is good for those players who love blood and violence in their games. For the ones who care about game controls and graphics quality, this is not a good idea. It's not quite possible to give this game an overall rating; parts of the game are excellent while other parts are mediocre. The game has a lot of strengths, but a fair amount of weaknesses too. There are lots of great weapons to blow your enemies away. You can even use a camera to take pictures of the mayhem you've created.

The players will have full control over a shopping center, where they can get all sorts of weapons to fight off the flesh-hungry mob. On the negative side, the controls are sluggish, to say the least. In addition, players tend to mix up health bonuses with their weapons. This leads to a lot of confusion. Since there are not too many save points, you will have to start all over again in case you get killed. This makes it a cumbersome affair. The prizes are also a little too difficult to win.
