In WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007, you can tweak the controls and the gameplay so that the game plays as easily or as difficult as you like. In addition, there is a new grappling system in the game that uses the right analog stick to start the move and it is pretty good once you have the hang of it. However, you can always switch back to the usual button controls if you like.
Things like running, striking, grappling, picking up weapons and whipping your opponents is extremely easy and works very well. WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 plays out just like on the TV with dramatic momentum shifts, taunts and finishing moves that appear from nowhere. You have different match types like Hell in a Cell, TLC, Table Ladder, Elimination Chamber, Cage, Royal Rumble and Buried Alive among others. Up to six characters can be in the ring at one given time and all match types work pretty well.
In the Season mode, you can either be a WWE superstar or a wrestler you created and you make a run for the WWE Championship. There are more than 40 storylines and you can take part in any of those. In addition, there are lots of recorded dialogues from the superstars itself so that really gets you going.
In the multiplayer mode, just 4 players can compete at a time and this is available online. Nearly every match type is available and it will take a long time before you get tired of the game. You also have the option of trading created characters. You can create custom belts and defend them online but this can be done only in ranked matches and not custom matches with your friends.
WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 plays quite well on the Xbox system and with so many different modes, customization options and match types make the game worth your while,
