In Saint's Row, the player is a member of the Third Street Saints, a gang trying to take back the streets from three rival gangs that hold the city. Saint's Row is quite similar to the popular "Grand Theft Auto" series. However, what sets the former apart is that it allows you to customize many different aspects of the game. You can customize your appearance, your clothes, and the color and specs of your car. While Grand Theft Auto is popular for its action-packed features and hard racing, Saint's Row boasts of impressive graphics and many user-friendly features.
The plot is simple: You have been asked to join the gang; you don't have the option of saying no. As a new member of the 3rd Street Saints, your job is to open up new business opportunities. The gangs that you are up against are called Westside rollerz, vice kings and los carnales. There are many different side quests and activities to keep you busy. Once you complete an activity, your character gets more powers and energy. You will also be rewarded with more weapons as you progress in the game.
Although this is an exciting game, it does have its flaws. As mentioned earlier, the similarities with Grand Theft Auto are striking. Also, some of the best cars are not customizable; this is a frequent source of irritation. The multiplayer version also needs some work. At times, it is sluggish in response and tends to create players out of thin air.
