A lot has been said and written about the newest edition to the popular Need for Speed series of games. Although all of it has not been favorable, the bottom line is that Need for Speed Carbon is definitely worth a try. Overall, the game does have some new features and exciting additions over Most Wanted. For those players hooked on to action-packed car racing, this one is a good investment.
The user interface has been totally changed for NFS Carbon. For starters, the whole game takes place in darkness. The The customization options of the cars are innovative and interesting. There are a number of body types, models, colors and parts to choose from. Although the quality of graphics is a little inferior compared to past editions of NFS, they still do the trick. There is enough detail and color to keep you glued to the screen. The game stands out for sheer speed and excellent controls.
In the past editions of this game, NFS has been criticized for not having enough user-friendly features. The designers have tried to counter this issue by introducing the “Wingmen”. These mysterious guys are drivers who assist players in winning races by indulging in "questionable" tactics. Your wingman might block off your opponent or provide your car with an energy boost so that you can leave everyone behind. They also "whisper" in your ear from time to time, giving you useful tips. The wingmen add a unique new dimension to the game.
